i can't believe it

I am officially old. I went to a concert tonight, and I couldn't stop thinking that it was too loud. I was wishing for some earplugs, or that they would turn it down. How sad is that? Well, I guess at least I am not so old yet that I can't go out on a week night. There, I think I feel better now!

I never realized how smart you have to be to make pizza

Ok, so check out this LSAT logic games question:

Eight college students order a custom-made pizza; the pizza has eight slices with a single topping on each slice. The toppings are anchovies, black olives, Canadian Bacon, green olives, hamburger, onion, pepperoni and sausage. Each slice is of equal size, so four slices make exactly half the pizza; a slice is opposite the slice separated from it by three slices. The students are very picky about how their pizza is arranged, so they have set the following conditions:

  • Each slice contains one topping, each topping is used exactly once.
  • When counting from one slice to another, always move clockwise.
  • The green olive slice must be adjacent to and clockwise from the pepperoni slice.
  • The black olive slice is directly across from the anchovies slice.
  • The anchovies slice cannot be adjacent to the Canadian bacon slice.
  • The Canadian bacon slice can't be adjacent to the hamburger slice.

NOW THE QUESTIONS!

1.If the hamburger slice is directly opposite the green olive slice, then
which of the following slices CANNOT be adjacent to the pepperoni slice?
  • Anchovies
  • Black olives
  • Canadian bacon
  • Onion
  • Sausage
2. If the Canadian bacon slice isn't adjacent to the black olive slice,
which two slices could be adjacent to the onion slice?
  • Anchovies and sausage
  • Canadian bacon and anchovies
  • Canadian bacon and sausage
  • Hamburger and black olives
  • Sausage and black olives
3. Which one of the following could be a series of four adjacent
slices,moving clockwise?
  • Anchovies, sausage, hamburger, black olives
  • Black olives, Canadian bacon, hamburger, pepperoni
  • Black olives, green olives, pepperoni, hamburger
  • Hamburger, anchovies, Canadian bacon, sausage
  • Onion, black olives, pepperoni, green olives
4. If the Canadian bacon slice is opposite the hamburger slice,
what is the minimum possible number of slices that could fit
between the hamburger slice and the black olive slice?
  • Zero
  • One
  • Two
  • Three
  • Four
5. If the pepperoni slice is adjacent to the onion slice, which slice
must be adjacent to the anchovies slice?
  • Black olives
  • Canadian bacon
  • Green olives
  • Hamburger
  • Sausage
6. If the black olives slice is between the pepperoni and Canadian
bacon, which two slices could be adjacent to the sausage slice?
  • Anchovies and green olives
  • Anchovies and pepperoni
  • Canadian bacon and anchovies
  • Canadian bacon and green olives
  • Hamburger and onion
7. What is the minimum possible number of slices between the green
olives slice and the onion slice?
  • Zero
  • One
  • Two
  • Three
  • Four

Ok, now that I feel ready to become an attorney and more than ready to eat a pizza, I will leave you solving this lovely game. I really don't think that anyone reads this blog, but if for some reason, someone does read it and wants the answers to this deliciously mind numbing question, let me know.

the boys...

Ok, so yes, I am sure this may be boring to some people, but I love it when my cats clean each other! I think it is adorable, mainly because they are both boys. Awww...sweet little guys.

disappointment all around

The last couple days have brought some disappointing news. One of my closest friends (a med student, well, soon to be Dr.) just got matched and she is moving to Connecticut. I am so happy for her, because I know it will be perfect for her, but selfishly, I wish she could stay here. I will miss her dearly.

Then today, I registered for classes for the fall, and picked one taught by my favorite Professor. Tonight in class I was telling her that we would be seeing each other again, when she looked at me in a sad way and told me that I would not have any classes with her since she is moving to North Carolina in August. I am so sad to lose her. She is the Professor who led me to the decision to go to law school.

Sometimes, it feels like everyone that touches my life in some way, is only around for a short time. I guess I should be happy and thankful that they were a part of my life.

here i go

Well, with my family completely on board and excited for me, I finally registered myself for the LSAT. I am so excited, yet nervous at the same time. What if I bomb it?? I mean, that would be very unlikely - at least I think it would. I am of course planning to do my best, and by my best, I mean do well enough to get into all of the law schools I am looking at, so I can chose exactly where I want to go.

Only time will tell, I suppose. I can't wait for my class that I am taking right now to end, so I can focus all of my energy this summer on studying for the LSAT and completing my law school applications. Wow, that sounds fun, doesn't it?! Don't worry, I am sure I will find some time to play a little golf here and there too. What would the summer be without it?
